Company History
Vargas Furniture Manufacture, Inc., is a small Southern California bricks and mortar company that has been in business since 1942. Vargas Furniture was started by Frank Vargas Sr. in a small garage in Los Angeles. Frank's dream was to produce quality wood furniture that he could sell to wholesalers. He officaly started the business in 1956 producing furniture in an 800 square foot building. Within a few years, Vargas Furniture expanded shop operations into a 2000 square foot building. By 1956 Vargas Furniture had outgrown their facility, and had to move into a bigger 9000 square foot building. The furniture line expanded to include bedroom sets, dining room products, tables and accent furniture. In 1971 the building was expanded additional 3000 square feet. The company was growing year by year. This expansion resulted in a partnership between Frank Sr., Angelia, David, and Frank Jr. Finally in 1975 Vargas Furniture moved into a 56,000 square foot facility located in Los Angeles, California. In 1984, Vargas Furniture was taking a different direction in regards to producing and selling furniture. They started to sell finished furniture in the retail market throught the USA. With their new marketing plan in place, sales grew by an astounding 300% in just 5 years. In 1990 with the company still expanding, David Vargas opened a factory in Tijuana Mexico. This allowed Vargas to undercut the competition by shifting production outside the USA. In 1990 another big change took place Frank Vargs Jr. retired from the family business leaving David and Rachel Vargas incharge.
David and Rachel plan to expand their business throught the US by adapting to the ever changing economy. They hope that this web site will bring their products into a wider spread market and eventually hope to expand into a "Clicks and Mortar" business.
